Congratulations to Piper-Heidsieck and Ferrari-Trento on their success at the 2025 Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships.
At the ceremony in London, Piper-Heidsieck was named ‘Supreme World Champion’, an accolade awarded to just four other Houses (including Rare Champagne) in the competition's history.
Additionally, Piper-Heidsieck’s 2014 Vintage Brut in Magnum was named ‘World Champion Brut Vintage’, ‘Best French Sparkling Wine’, ‘Best Non-Deluxe Champagne’ and ‘Best Champagne’.
These accolades continue Piper-Heidsieck’s reputation as the most-awarded Champagne House of the last Century. Their chief winemaker, Émilien Boutillat, is one of the youngest in Champagne’s history and has been driving standards even higher at Piper-Heidsieck since 2018. Émilien’s exceptional talents led him to be named ‘Sparkling Winemaker of the Year’ by the IWC in both 2023 and 2021 and shortlisted for 2024 and 2025. Winning such coveted awards at the 2025 Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships is further testament to the fantastic work of Émilien and his talented team.
Also made by Émilien, Rare Champagne were awarded 'Best Deluxe Champagne' for their 2012 Rare Millésime.
Continuing to prove their well-earned reputation for excellence, Ferrari was named ‘Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year’ for a record 8th time, having previously achieved this accolade in 2024 - 2021, 2019, 2017 and 2015.
Ferrari also won ‘World Champion Blanc de Blancs’ for their NV Brut in Magnum, and ‘World Champion Library Vintage’ for their 2004 ‘Giulio Ferrari’ Riserva del Fondatore in Magnum.
Ferrari consistently over-delivers thanks to an uncompromising selection of grapes, attentive winemaking and extended lees ageing. In June 2023, the estate appointed two-time IWC Sparkling Winemaker of the Year, Cyril Brun, as Chef de Cave. Previously at Charles Heidsieck, Aÿ native Cyril brings his vast experience and new perspective to Trento DOC ‘Metodo Classico’ sparkling wines. Under his guidance, the estate has continued to build upon the legacy of its founder Giulio Ferrari.
